Seal Beach

Seal beach is my absolute favorite beach for surfing, specifically inside the jetty. Im a very new surfer so the jetty allows me to be able to surf the waves without them crashing on top of me. This jetty creates a good barrier against the rest of the beach and has good size waves for beginners. The only scary thing about surfing in the jetty is there are rocks on both sides. So make sure when your surfing to stay in the middle to avoid getting thrashed against the rocks.

The beach itself has nice white sand. Its not as picturesque as other beaches in Orange County but it still does the trick if you want to get your beach fix. A good perk to Seal Beach is there is always good and easy parking. No driving around for thirty minutes to then find a spot you have to parallel park in.

One fun fact about Seal Beach is it has one of the longest wooden piers in California. There also use to be a Ruby’s diner at the end of the pier (a classic beach restaurant) but it burned down in 2016.
